چکیده

The study of the potential use essential oils in field Cultural Heritage has increased last decade due to their demonstrated antimicrobial and absence toxicity. This work aimed at assessing, for first time, volatile antifungal activity two (EOs) (Origanum vulgare Syzygium aromaticum) against fungi isolated from biodeteriorated archaeological mummified skin. object was a Mustela frenata Tiahuanaco culture Bolivia. found on animal's skin were preliminarily identified by DNA-based analysis. Subsequently, oil biocidal evaluated parchments inoculated with (Aspergillus tabacinus, Aspegillus tennesseensis, Trichoderma longibrachiatum). Vapour tests conducted Petri dishes parchment specimens assess fungicidal effect components EOs. EOs used this showed tested fungi. oregano be most effective EO vitro three fungal strains. EOs, particularly EO, represents promising green strategy sustainable conservation organic-based cultural assets.

Antifungal Activity of Clove Essential Oil and its Volatile Vapour Against Dermatophytic Fungi

Antifungal activities of clove essential oil and its volatile vapour against dermatophytic fungi including Candida albicans, Epidermophyton floccosum. Microsporum audouinii, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, and Trichophyton rubrum were investigated. Both clove essential oil and its volatile vapour strongly inhibit spore germination and mycelial growth of the dermatophytic fungi tested. The volatile...

Application of Volatile Antifungal Plant Essential Oils for Controlling Pepper Fruit Anthracnose by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides

Anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides has been destructive during pepper fruit production in outdoor fields in Korea. In vitro antifungal activities of 15 different plant essential oils or its components were evaluated during conidial germination and mycelial growth of C. gloeosporioides. In vitro conidial germination was most drastically inhibited by vapour treatments with carva...
